Pokemon Tabletop Adventures

DAY 1

Dhamon and Alaric respond to a notice given out by Professor Oak for a job. They arrive to Oak’s Lab and are greeted by aids who explain Professor Oak is out visiting his granddaughter. They head to Daisy’s house and find Oak there who proceeds to lead them back to the lab. He brings them down to his basement room where a small metal pillar is. He hits a button on it and pokeballs come out. He explains to the boys that an assistant went missing 3 weeks ago, and no one has found him. He wants the research his assistant had accumulated on the pikachu of the forest, to one up Elm’s discovery of the pichu. In return he gives Alaric a charmander to help protect him. And he cautiously chucks Dhamon a pichu given to him from Prof. Elm to help hunt down the assistant. The pokeball hit him in the face. He tells them he needs the information in a certain amount of time because he will be leaving to Johto on business soon. They head off for Viridian City.

Thallos arrives in Vermillion City in hopes of getting into the Ranger Corps. He arrives at the docks because he knows that they are holding their initiation party on the S.S. Anne. He goes to a reception desk outside to receive his boat pass. She doesn’t find him on the list and then talks to a man about it. He introduces himself as Captain and informs Thallos that he did not make it into the rangers, heck he didn’t even own a pokemon. He told him though to come back in an hour and he would let him on the boat as his guest.

Jabbermouth (as he apparently calls himself) arrives at Oak’s place to respond to the job he put out. He generally just stands outside the lab staring inward. Oak notices this strange boy outside his lab staring in so closed some shades on the door. Jabbermouth knocks on the door in response, and so Oak after peering through the shades opens the door and finds out what Jabbermouth wants. He leads Jabbermouth to his basement and informs him that he already gave the job to two boys nearly a half hour before. Feeling sorry for the poor ugly boy, he gives him a bulbasaur and asks him to go follow the two boys that left and to make sure they come back alive. Jabbermouth then decides it is his mission to kill the two boys. Jabbermouth heads off for Viridian City.

Alaric with his charmander on his shoulders, and Dhamon by his side travel Route 1. By this point They have familiarized themselves with their pokemon. The Pichu is named Static and the Charmander is named Napalm. On the way, they get ambushed by a wild pack of Rattata. The leader of the pack approaches with hostility and attacks Napalm. After a quick battle, showing the boys just how dangerous pokemon are, they knock the leader unconscious with a thundershock. Seeing their tough leader defeated the other rattata flee in fear. Dhamon picks up the rattata and carries it with to Viridian. The two teenagers arrive at the pokecenter to fix up all three pokemon. They ask the direction to the pokemart, and she gives them it. The rattata cautiously follows them at a distance. The two buy pokeballs and when outside they find the rattata had followed them. Dhamon sends out Static, and in a very very quick battle, the rattata creams Static, scratches up some dirt onto the unconscious body, and then prances up to Dhamon. Dhamon catches it with a pokeball and names her Quicksilver. They head to the pokecenter because it is late, and they don’t want to go into the forest until the next day.

Thallos, depressed that he didn’t get accepted, decides to head to the pokemart to buy some pokeballs. He figures that he has to catch himself a pokemon. He travels out to the east of Vermillion, and fails horribly at finding pokemon, he can’t see shit. I’m sure he barely even noticed the other trainers. Meanwhile a hungry ekans lurks about finding himself easy prey. Skillfully sneaking through the grass he pulls up behind a witless opponent. Determined this day is a day he goes without hunger, he lunges out at this mammoth meal. Hearing a slight rustle behind him, Thallos turns around just in time to see something lunge past him. Looking back to chase whatever it was he sees a waiting ekans. Not realizing the situation he is in, he tosses a pokeball at his hard earned quarry. The ekans allows himself to be caught so that when the opportunity arises he can once again lunge at his filling foe. Thallos returns to the boat feeling accomplished only to not find anyone to talk to. He ends up entering the boat fairly unnoticed and starts to search around for Captain. He gets lost and finds himself near the edge of the boat on the deck. A captain sees him and asks him what he’s doing, after being informed he summons some underlings to guide him to Captain. Before he can leave, a man rushes by and accidentally knocks thallos into the water. Not being able to swim, Thallos goes unconscious as he sinks, with only the faint image of a small shadow approaching him in the water in his final moments.

Jabbermouth travels Route 1, noticing many rattata, all of which are fearful, restless, and quick to hide. He arrives at Viridian City when he realizes Prof. Oak told him that the two boys could tell him the mission, so he can’t search for them based on that. He also realizes that Oak never described in any way who the two boys were. Thinking it would be a good idea to start his search at the pokecenter he asks around for information. Feeling really, really bad for this small ugly child, Nurse Joy tells him that she gave two boys with pokemon that professor oak gives out directions to the pokemart. At the pokemart, he asks around again some more, and feeling really, really bad for this small ugly child, the clerk tells him that two boys with the pokemon were there buying pokeballs not too long ago and probably headed to the pokecenter for the night. Jabbermouth waddles back to the pokecenter to find it fairly crowded now, except for in one corner. Alaric and Dhamon had decided to call dibs on two couches in a corner and so it ended up being spacier over there. Not wanting to be crowded Jabbermouth walks to that corner to find the two boys he had been looking for, and feeling really, really bad for this small ugly child that Alaric recognizes from Pallet they allow him to sleep on the floor near them. Like a dog.

DAY 2

Thallos wakes up in a room he doesn’t recognize. He’s in pajamas he doesn’t recognize. At the foot of his bed is a turtle shell he doesn’t recognize. He goes to touch it and it spins off to the floor, and then under the bed. He looks under the bed for it, grabs it and looks at one of the bigger holes, followed up with a tail shooting out and tail whipping him. He drops it, and picks it back up, and gets tail whipped again. Frustrated at this foreign shell, he leaves the room and wanders around until he recognizes he’s on the ship he had fallen off. He finds a person whom he tells about the turtle shell, and brings him back to the room. He mentions it is a Squirtle, what happened to Thallos that night, where he can find his clothes, and then leads him to where he can find Captain. They arrive at Professor Oak’s lab, go down to the basement, and they see Captain and Oak talking to each other about something. Captain notices the two, and then they instead talk to Thallos, and explain to him that maybe if he had more life experience he could join the rangers. Oak offers him a Pokemon, but Thallos declines saying he has that squirtle in his room. Captain explains that the squirtle is probably tired and hungry from saving Thallos’ ass and that’s why he’s grumpy. Oak tells him to meet him near Route 1 after he gets his Squirtle. Thallos heads to his house to find his mother home. He explains he didn’t get into the rangers and she mentions to not let his father know or else he’ll surely beat her again. She tells him about some bread in the kitchen that he could feed the Squirtle. He goes onto the boat, gets stopped, and then is escorted to his room, he can’t see the squirtle in the room anywhere, and the ranger points to the dresser top. He feeds the squirtle the bread, bread that he hates, and so he gets tailwhipped again. He promises he has other food at home, so the Squirtle follows him. He feeds him food he actually likes and so the Squirtle decides to follow him. Needing a companion he decides it would be best to go to get Cody.

The three boys in Viridian wake up and decide it best to head off for the Viridian Forest. They approach a building on the edge of the forest that acts as an entrance. Inside they see a mess of people, maps, and desks. They go near the exit door, to look at a big map. The man there greets them, and tells them of his son who went off to become a ranger in Vermillion City, and how proud he is that he’s going to be a ranger. They talk about the missing assistant, and he tells them about the one inhabitant of the forest. Alaric asks for a map of the forest and they proceed. After a while of walking, Static is alerted by the scent of Pikachu. He darts off but stops. They approach where Static stopped, and find a horde of bug pokemon. They absolutely destroy the bugs (Static frying them to hell) and find a log cabin. They approach it, and without realizing, a samurai dualwielding katanas has a swordpointed to the throats of Dhamon and Jabbermouth. After Alaric notices they have a small squabble with the Samurai, who then decides to battle them because they are from Pallet Town. Dhamon battles Samurai in a double battle. He beats Samurai pretty badly. They then go back to his cabin to rest up. While resting up, they hear a crashing sound in the forest, Samurai darts towards the origin of the sound and the boys soon follow. The boys stop at a crater, with a sink hole in the middle. Not sure what to make of the situation, Jabbermouth pushes Dhamon, who falls into the hole. In an angry response Samurai holds katanas to his throat. Jabbermouth responds by trying to push Samurai too, but fails and accidentally pushes himself into the blade, cutting himself a bit on the neck. Alaric yells down to Dhmon to see if he’s alright, but Dhamon doesn’t respond. Instead they hear Dhamon yell for his pokemon, and then get turned into red beams of energy as they disappear down the hole. Dhamon yells that it’s about 30ft and that it’s dark. Samurai says he will go get some rope and heads off to his cabin.

Thallos arrives at Cody’s house, and is greeted by his Ghastly floating out of the house to see who it is. Thallos tells Cody that he’s going on an adventure to get life experience and invites him along. Cody wants to participate in the league anyway. At the edge of Route 1, Oak greets Cody, and then forgets who Thallos is. Thallso reminds him and then Oak gives them both Pokedexes out of his sack of pokedexes. Along Route 1, Cody gets tackled by a pudgy pidgey. Cody has his Ghastly put it to sleep, and then Thallos catches it with a pokeball. They arrive at Viridian and Cody buys some pokeballs and a potion at the Pokemart. They then head off to Viridian Forest. They arrive at the entrance building where they check out a big map on the wall near the exit door. They get greeted by the ranger that greeted the previous 3 trainers. It just so happens it is Ranger Anderson, Thallos’ dad. He says hi to Cody and then when asked how it went, Cody told Thallos to lie, but Thallos told his father he didn’t make it. Ranger Anderson is severely disappointed, and makes a remark about how his wife is going to get beaten. He wishes Cody good luck, hands him a map of the forest, and completely ignores his son. On the way into the forest, They notice Ranger Anderson put on his coat as though he is about to go home. They enter the Viridian Forest just to hear a crashing sound. Cody remembered he was a girl named Cindy. Thallos didn’t even notice. They head towards that direction. They instead find a cabin. When hearing a sound come from inside, Thallos decides to stare into the window. Samurai has noticed this boy, left his house, and put a sword to his neck. Thallos has no idea what’s going on. Cindy mentions it to Thallos, but he ignores it and keeps staring. Samurai asks him what he’s doing, and Thallos is surprised to see this samurai holding a sword to his neck. He explains what is going on, and so Samurai excuses his novice ways for now. He dashes off to go help the others, and so Cindy and Thallos follow. They arrive at the crater, where everyone recognizes Cindy, and not everyone remembers everyone else. Samurai asks Thallos to help him hold the rope as the others go down it into the hole. Cindy, Drew, and Jabbermouth arrive to find no one there.

Dhamon, had heard noises coming from a direction behind him. He called back his pokemon and then sent out Static again. They ended up going through a dark tunnel where the sounds got louder and more common. It eventually got bright as he found himself in the center of a hollowed out tree, with grass, and tunnels and all that jazz. He followed pichu around until he got to a room where he saw a man speaking with a Pikachu. Shocked to see another person the man asks Dhamon about what’s going on. Dhamon find out it is the assistant, and he had been living with the Pikachu because he loves this place that they themselves made, and it was amazing, and Oak is a dick. Dhamon agrees and asks for the research. He gets it, and they threaten his life if they talk about this place to anyone, especially Oak. He is cool with that and then heads back.

Samurai and Thallos decide to head back to the Cabin for a battle. Samurai beats Squirtle with his Metapod, and then loses to the Ekans. They stay at his cabin because it’s starting to get late.

Napalms tail is able to light up the cave, so it’s apparent it’s a small room, with two tunnels. Cindy and Alaric convince Jabbermouth to go down one tunnel while they go down the one with sounds coming from it. Jabbermouth, heads down his tunnel. It’s dark, and takes forever to walk down. Eventually he starts hearing noises come from all around, so he has his Bulbasaur tackle the wall a few times, resulting in a cave in. The path back is blocked so he just continues down the path with bulbasaur. Alaric and Cindy continue down the other path to find a truly amazing place, a hollowed out tree with grass and light, and it’s just crazy great. They hear sounds of pokemon but they don’t notice any. They hear people talking in a far off area, so they start yelling for Dhamon. Dhamon bumps into them and the assistant notices them when he remembers he didn’t tell Dhamon how to leave, he says hi to Cindy and then wonders how they got there and threatens them too. (That’s a running joke. Everyone so far doesn’t know who the PC’s are, not even each other, but everyone knows Cindy. ) They agree not to say shit, and not wanting to have to crawl, they head back the way they came. They find out that the rope is gone, no one answers them. They decide to go after Jabbermouth.

Day 3

They arrive at a cave in area, and figure he must be on the other side. They start digging it out, and Cindy sends Ghastly to go find Jabbermouth. In this dark, cave, exhausted by the walking, but not wanting to stop, Jabbermouth has continued on. Suddenly, he feels the wet stroke of a tongue on the back of his neck/head, and he loses all control of his body and collapses. Bulbasaur sees Ghastly and talks to him, and Ghastly leaves to go alert Cindy. Bulbasaur tries to drag him back but fails. Jabbermouth eventually falls asleep. They dig out the collapse and ghastly licks his own eye to signal he found the boy. They find Jabbermouth asleep in the middle of the cave, wet on his leg, and probably from peeing himself. They kick him and wake him up. They decide to continue down the path. They come to a split, they can go left or right. They choose left. And as they do they hear the sounds of a diglett, as one pops up. There’s a slight vibration in the ground and most of them have their lives flash before their eyes. The eternal fire of rage can be seen in the digletts eyes. In the fire they see a magnitude 10 killing off everyone one of them. With plenty of fear struck in their minds, the diglett leaves feeling accomplished. Obviously the lack of sleep is affecting them. They continue down the path, and find a ladder, which leads to an exit outside the other side of the Viridian Forest. Tired as hell, they all sleep for the morning. Cindy tells the crew she’s gonna wake up earlier to go find Thallos. She does, and finds him at Samurai’s house eating breakfast. They leave Samurai, and head towards Pewter City.

Alaric, Jabbermouth, and Dhamon wake up later and head towards Pallet to finally be over with this event. They arrive back to find out that Oak was nearly about to leave, Dhamon gives him the research, says they didn’t find the assistant, and then he gives them pokedexes as a reward out of his sack of pokedexes he has. It starts to get late so they turn in to the Pokecenter when they get to Viridian City.

On the way out of the forest, Thallos and Cindy are ambushed by a bunch of caterpie, metapod, a weedle, and a kakuna. They assume that the kakuna is the leader. Cindy ends up catching a metapod, and the Kakuna. The other caterpie and metapod flee, and Thallos ends up wrapping the weedle, crushing it to death. They arrive at Pewter city, and decide to train, and get into a trainer battle with each other. They then turn into the pokecenter for the night.

Day 4

Jabbermouth, Dhamon, and Alaric get up and head for the forest once more after Jabbermouth buys pokeballs. This time they have the plan to hunt for pidgey. They find two trees with a few pidgey in them. Alaric walks up to a tree and holds out his arm, and a curious pidgey flies down and lands on it. Jabbermouth copies Alleric, and a trouble making pidgey just scratches bark at his eyes. Jabbermouth does it again and gets more in his eyes. Dhamon, wanting to be the good trainer, uses his pichu to battle the one scratching bark. He orders Static to do a thundershock. And it ends up exploding the pidgey. I’m talking about straight up small animal in the microwave. Or feeding a bird rice and then water. With the pidgey nuked the others freak out and fly far, far away. Everyone’s pissed at Dhamon. He switches out the not understanding what he did wrong Pichu for the now smugger than ever Quicksilver. Jabbermouth, being dopey as fuck picks up the pile of sludge that was the pidgey, holding it in his shirt and starts to walk back to Viridian to bring it to the pokecenter. The two others convince him that it can’t be saved and tell him to drop it. He reluctantly does so. At the exit they see one lowly pidgey sitting there with his head cocked. Jabbermouth chucks a pokeball at it and catches it. They leave the forest and hunt pidgey’s there. Dhamon catches himself a pidgey, and Alaric catches himself a buff pidgey. On the way out of the forest though, Jabber ended up getting hit over the head with a rock falling unconscious. Waking up from their night, the two trainers Cindy and Thallos talk to Nurse Joy about registering for the Pokemon League. They fill out some paper work and Nurse Joy enters them into the system. They also then find out that each gym has their own rules for battling. Afterwards they head back to Route 2 for some battling. They find 3 pidgeys in the field. They hypnosis one pidgey, attack another, the third flees, the other wakes up, it flees and they catch the other one. After the battle they notice Alaric and Dhamon down the path. Needing training, the 4 do a double battle, with one pokemon each. Cindy, Thallos, Gastly and Ekans battled Dhamon, Alaric, Static and Napalm. Gastly was the last standing. They then all went to Pewter City. They healed up their pokemon, and the other two registered for the pokemon league. The day then ended after rest.
